Stock up on tomato products?

Stock up on tomato products?

I usually grow a few tomato plants every year for fresh tomatoes and canned tomato sauce. This year, it seems as though I probably should have planned for a few more than I actually planted.

Last year saw tomato issues thanks to e.coli outbreaks. This year, it seems as though there may be an issue with late blight.

Read about it here.

So, would now be a good time to start stocking up on canned and frozen tomato products?

Right now, in my area, a 15 ounce can of plain tomato sauce is 59 cents (ahh, I remember when I could get them 3 for a dollar!). I'm going to be watching the prices closely on tomato and tomato products.

Have you noticed any jump in prices?
